NOTE: Using Microsoft Edge to submit assignments could result in a blank file being submitted, and older versions of Safari do not work at all. Use Firefox or Chrome to submit assignments.
This document refers to submitting to regular assignments in an Original view Scholar course. For assignment submission in an Ultra course, refer to the documentation here.
To submit your assignment in Scholar, click on the name of the assignment.
You will then be taken to the assignment submission page. Scroll to the Assignment Submission section.
For some short assignments, your instructor may allow you to type your submission directly in Scholar. To do so, click on “Write Submission” and a text box will appear, allowing you to type in your answer. Unless you’re specifically told to do that, however, you should click “Browse My Computer” and find the document on your computer to submit. Unless your instructor specifies otherwise, you should submit either a Microsoft Word or PDF file, as these will work with both the assignment viewer and SafeAssign.
You’ll then see your file appear below the buttons.
Click “Do not attach” if you’ve submitted the wrong file by mistake. Otherwise, click Submit. Your assignment will be uploaded and you’ll be taken to a page where you can view it.
At the top of the page, you’ll see a confirmation number. This is your proof of having submitted the assignment. You’ll also get an e-mail with this number.

Your assignment will display. If it says that it’s being converted, simply click the refresh button on your web browser.
If your file is one of the supported types, you’ll see the text appear. If not, there will be a link to download the file. Once you’ve submitted your file, your instructor can grade it, and you will be able to view the grade from this page.
