Summary

Christopher Newport employs a next generation Firewall Appliance to protect its users and resources from threats and threat actors that exist on the Internet. To ensure a secure and stable network, ITS uses features such as Vulnerability Protection, Anti-Malware, Blocklists, and URL Filtering, all of which are functions of the University Firewall. In rare cases, some websites may get unintentionally blocked by the Firewall due to a miss categorization of the website itself.

If you have been blocked from reaching a website in error, and you feel the website is trustworthy, you can submit a change of categorization request through our Vendor's website.
