This document is about posting documents in an Original View Scholar course. For uploading and posting content in an Ultra course, refer to the documentation here

Documents can be posted in any content area. By default, several content areas are created in your course.  Click on one of these to access a content area.

To upload a document hover over the  Build Content button and select Item from the menu that appears.

This will open the Create Item page.

Give the item a name.  You are also able to add additional information in the “Text” box.

You can attach a file by clicking “Browse My Computer” and selecting a file.c

You can attach more files by selecting browse again.


In section 3 of the page you must choose 'Yes' next to 'Permit Users to View this Content' in order for students to be able to open/download the document.

Scholar Item Availability

You can also limit the dates that the item can be viewed by using the Display After and Display Until options.  Check 'Display After' if you wish to set a future date for the assignment to first appear. By default, if you do not select this the item will appear as soon as you hit submit. You can then enter the dates in mm/dd/yyyy form or click the calendar icon to choose the date and the clock icon to choose the time.

Use 'Display Until' to select a date and time for the item to be unavailable.

When you have the item set up the way that you want it, click Submit.

You will see a green success message at the top of the screen and students will now be able to access the document according to your choices for availability.
