Occasionally, clickers that were purchased used may have had their Device ID’s set to something other than the factory ID. This will cause problems when the clickers are registered. Luckily, it’s easy to fix.
Press the key under the wrench on your NXT clicker.
Use the arrow keys to navigate to Device Info and press Enter (the key between the arrows on the keypad).
You’ll then be able to view your device ID.
On that screen, press the Channel button () twice, then the entry-mode button () once. Next, press enter. You’ll be taken to a screen where you can enter a new device id. Enter six zeros (000000) and press enter.
The device ID will be reset to the factory setting and will work with the Scholar tools.
