What is Grid View?

Grid View is an alternative view in Google Meet allowing you to view all participants simultaneously. The cameras or profile pictures of all the participants are arrayed in a grid in the center screen of Google Meet.

After downloading the option to turn on Grid View is available as a button at the top right of the Google Meet browser tab, next to the chatbox and participants list.

It will show with a slash through the grid icon when it is disabled.

Clicking on this button will open up a menu with additional options that come with Grid View, such as filtering out participants not showing video, having the grid highlight speakers, and choosing whether you are included in the grid.

Troubleshooting

  1. Disable the Grid View extension by clicking on the Grid View icon. It will show with a slash through the grid icon when it is disabled.

  2. Click on the three dots in the bottom right corner of the Google Meet browser tab.

  3. From the menu, click “Change Layout”

  4.  Select “Tiled” from the resulting menu.

Note: Your image is not visible in the grid, but you can see a thumbnail of your video in the upper right corner.
