Most major browsers have updated their security settings to block files known as 3rd-party or cross-site cookies.  This reduces the ability of advertisers to track you, but can also cause problems with sites that use these cookies to communicate with legitimate other sites.  Scholar uses 3rd-party cookies to communicate with external tools including Collaborate and most publisher tools.

You'll know you are experiencing this problem if you get an endlessly-spinning purple circle when attempting to access Collaborate, or get an error message when accessing a publisher tool.

You will need to enable 3rd-party cookies for Scholar in order to use these tools.

Chrome

If 3rd-party cookies are blocked in Chrome, you'll see an eye icon in the address bar at the top of your browser.

Chrome Eye Icon In Browser

Click that, and choose "Site not working?"

Chrome Site Not Working

Then, click "Allow cookies".

Chrome Allow Cookies

Refresh the page, and your tool will work.

Firefox

Click the purple shield in the address bar at the top of the page.

Click the toggle next to "Enhanced Tracking Protection is ON for this site".

Firefox Tracking Protection Enabled

The page will reload, and you should be able to access the tool.
