Scholar is scheduled to get a brand new overall interface, called Ultra Base Navigation, on Friday, July 2nd.  This update will bring a more modern navigation experience to Scholar, provide important information across courses, and work better on mobile devices.  This update will change how you navigate Scholar, locate tools and information, and access your courses.  Watch the video below or read on for more information about the changes coming with Ultra Base Navigation.

Signing In

If you sign in through the my.cnu.edu page, there won't be any change. If you sign in directly, the sign-in page will have an updated look.

It works the same way; you just enter your ID number and password to sign in.

You'll be brought to your courses list. and will see all your courses organized by term.

To view courses from only one term, click the dropdown at the top and select the term.

Viewing Organizations

Organizations work the same way (except we currently don't separate organizations by term); just click the Organizations link to view them.

New Features

There are several new features in Ultra Base Navigation that allow you to see what's coming up and  what has been graded.  These areas are the Activity Stream, Grades area, and Calendar.

Activity Stream

The Activity Stream is probably the most useful new feature.  It is accessed by clicking on the Activity Stream link.

It will show you newly added items, as well as things that are due (if your instructor set a due date) and things that have been graded.

Grades View

There is also an overall Grades section that you can access by clicking on Grades.

Select a particular term by clicking the back arrow at the top.

You will see your overall grade for each course (if the instructor set it up), as well as some highlights from the Grade Center. You will also see upcoming assignments.

Calendar

While the calendar isn't a new feature with Ultra Base Navigation, it's far easier to access. Click the Calendar link.

You can then see everything that's scheduled or due for the day across all courses.

You can change to a monthly view at the top right.
